- Description
- The California Department of Water Resources will purchase water supplied by the Kern County Water Agency (KCWA) in 2003. The amount of water purchased will be up to 182,240 acre-feet. The water for purchase is stored in groundwater banks managed by the Kern Water Bank Authority. Sources of the stored water include previous SWP deliveries and Kern River water banked in the ground during floods or periods of excess local supply.
