Title: Sand City General Plan Update 2002
Description: Adoption of a Zoning Ordinance amendment as an implementation devise of the recently adopted General Plan Update for 2002-2017 for the City of Sand City which is located within the County of Monterey along the Monterey Bay, just south of the former Fort Ord military reservation, west of the City of Seaside, and north of the City of Monterey. The zoning amendment, consistent with recently adopted General Plan update, addresses community issues and trends, special land use considerations, historic growth rates, and population and employment projections. The purpose of the new Planned mixed use (MU-P) district is to implement the Sand City General plan use policies related to the mixed use classification encourage development of mixed residential, commercial and light-industrial uses that ensure land use compatibility, encourage living wage jobs, provide continued availability of light manufacturing and commercial businesses, provide opportunities for office development, allow ancillary on-site retail, establish a conditional use permit procedure to insure land use compatiblity and real estate marketablity.
