Description: The Siskiyou County Road Department requests Use Permit and Reclamation Plan approval for a 17-acre open-pit gravel quarry within a 1,163-acre ranch. 225,000 cubic yards of material are planned for harvest over a 15-year mine life. Annual production is estimated at 10,000 to 15,000 cubic yards. The quarry would provide a rock source for road materials for the County's Road Maintenance District 6 in northeastern Siskiyou County. Presently, there are no other County rock sources in this District.
