Konocti Camp Wastewater Disposal System

Description

Remodeling of the existing wastewater treatment system will include the following construction work and added infrastructure: Adjacent to an existing septic tank at the campsite, a new septic tank will be installed. An above ground wastewater treatment plant will be in the vicinity of the new septic tank; the wastewater treatment plant dimensions are approximately 12'W x 50'L x 11'H. The wastewater treatment plant will be placed upon an approximately 16' x 56' slab on grade. Trench excavation work to allow connection of these systems to the existing wastewater lines will be completed. An underground pipeline to transfer treated effluent from the treatment plant and new septic tank to the ridge top site of a new leach field will be installed approximately 2 ft below the surface along an existing access road a distance of approximately 1,000 ft. A new leach field will be installed to the Southeast of an existing helipad at the campsite; the leach field will consist of 40, 100-ft trenches approximately 5.5 ft deep with 10 foot spacing and covering an area of approximately 200' x 200'. A second new septic tank will be installed adjacent to the leach field that will allow metering of the treated effluent into the leach field system. Three 100-ft deep (approximately 4" diameter) monitoring wells will be installed around the new leach field. An additional reserve leach, also approximately 200' x 200', may be installed at the ridge top site and North of the existing helipad.
