Title
Blue Ridge Oaks Potable Water System
Description
The residents in the Blue Ridge Oaks subdivision are provided with raw surface water, which is not fit for human consumption, originating from Lake Berryessa and transported via the Putah South Canal to the Solano Irrigation District's distribution system. Each homeowner then treats the raw surface water with a private point-of-entry (POE) potable water system. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of California, Department of Health Services (DHS) contends that the use of unapproved POE's for treatment of raw surface water does not meet the standards of the State and, therefore, has issued a Compliance Order for the District to provide potable water to the Blue Ridge Oaks subdivision. The proposed project involves the connection to the City of Fairfield domestic water line located south on Lyon Road approximately 5,600 feet, install a compound meter and backflow preventer, install approximately 5,600 feet of 6" PVC pipeline to an 80 gallon per minute Booster Pump Facility with Hydropneumatic Pressure Tank near the entrance to the subdivision. From the booster plant, a 4" pipeline would parallel the existing non-potable landscape irrigation water line within the subdivision. Each parcel would have a separate service connection to the 4" pipeline, including a meter and backflow preventer, for receiving potable water.
