- The Bitterwater Pumping Station Refuse Site was operated as a site for disposal of waste from the crude oil pumping plant and on-site housing from 1935 until the mid-1980s. The site remediation will consist, in general, of excavation of all refuse and affected soils, estimated at 2,600 cubic yards, for off-site disposal; grading of the excavated area to provide positive and enduring drainage; and hydroseeding of the regraded slope.
