Title
Merced Wild and Scenic River Comprehensive Management Plan/EIS
Description
Note: FYI - Public Notice Per Section. 15225. Congress designated the Merced River as Wild and Scenic in 1987, requiring the National Park Service to develop a comprehensive management plan under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. This plan establishes the boundaries and segment classifications of the Merced Wild and Scenic River, establishes a formal process for protecting the river's free-flowing conditions, refines descriptions of the river's outstandingly remarkable values, documents the condition over river values, establishes a user-capacity program that addresses the kinds and amounts of public use that the river corridor can sustain, and defines the size and location of facilities needed to provide for public use and enjoyment of the river resource, this plan presents six alternatives with a wide range of visitation levels, desired visitor experiences, and restoration objectives.
