Title
McGrath State Beach Levee Replacement
Description
Replace earthen levee adjacent to the Santa Clara River with a berm located several hundred yards away from the river's edge along an existing campground perimeter road within McGrath State Beach. The existing levee, constructed during the 1950's, was partially destroyed in 1998 flood events. The proposed set back levee/berm would be three feet high and would be planted with vegetation native to the locale. It would run the entire 1080 foot distance of the existing road between the campground and the salt marsh of the Santa Clara River Estuary Natural Preserve.
