Title: 1998 LEVEE REHABILITATION FOR RECLAMATION DISTS. 2068 AND 2098
Description: Flooding during the 'El Nino' storms in the winter and spring of 1998 damaged the levees protecting RDs 2068 and 2098 along the Yolo Bypass and Cache, Shag and Haas Sloughs. Repairs will be made by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers using compacted earthfill and underwater rock platforms on some sites to stabilize the levee toe. Revegetation with bulrush plantings at shoreline on some sites, and biological monitoring for Giant garter snake during construction, will offset potential adverse impacts to fish and wildlife.
