Title: Enhancement Plan for Former Oliver Bros. Salt Ponds. Hard Marsh
Description: The District plans to enhance the Former Oliver Brothers Salt Ponds and adjacent marsh lands to improve habitat for the Western Snowy Plover and other wildlife by moving water circulation and quality and increasing water control flexibility in the Salt Marsh Harvest Mouse Preserve and former salt ponds. This project will expand interpretive opportunities of the marshes and historic salt ponds while managing and improving public access. This work will be accomplished by removing an existing levee with tide gates and replacing the structures with a 40 foot bridge. Other hydrologic changes shall be made with improvements of channels, levees, and culverts/tide gates. This project also includes wetland mitigation.
