Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project

Description

The Calistoga Wastewater Treatment Facility is planning to upgrade their facility located at 1185 Dunaweal Lane in Calistoga, Napa County, Assessors Parcel # 020-18-035. A new dike will be constructed on the inside of the old dike and around the two aerated lagoons located at the Dunaweal Lane entrance. The lagoons are expanding away from the river, but oak branches will be trimmed in order for large equipment to access the construction area. Proper tree trimming should not have a significant impact on the riparian trees, but if removal is necessary, Fish and Game will be notified immediately and a revegetation plan will be submitted for approval before the project proceeds. During construction, sludge wil be cleaned for the aerated lagoon and stored in a field on the northside of the facility. The sludge will be temporarily placed and stored more than 150 ft. from the Napa River, Assessor's Parcel # 020-18-035, Calistoga , Napa County. The California Department of Fish and Game is executing a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement # R3-2001-0182 Pursuant to Section 1601 of the Fish and Game Code to the project operator, Steve Anderson, City of Calistoga.
