- The project under consideration is the seismic retrofit of San Clemente Dam. The project is being performed at the direction of the California Department of Water Resources, Division of Safety of Dams (DSOD). The seismic retrofit project consists of thickening the dam with conventional concrete on the downstream face of the dam and providing abutment protection, particularly on the right abutment (as seen facing downstream). The spillway superstructure will also be removed.
