- The proposed project involves the acquisition of up to 2,500 additional agricultural lands by the City of Modesto over the next 20 years to receive treated wastewater and cannery wastewater. The acquired agricultural lands would be operated for pasture and/or silage, which is similar to existing agricultural operations in the project vicinity. Anticipated subsequent projects would include the construction of pipelines and other infrastructure to transport the treated wastewater to the acquired application sites. Specific design work and engineering of needed facilities will subsequently occur and are anticipated for the program.
