Title
GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY ANAHEIM APPARATUS SERVICE CNETER
Description
DTSC approved the Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (Permit) pursuant to CA Health and Safety Code, section 25200 for the existing General Electric International, Inc. Los Angeles Service Center (GE LASC) hazardous waste storage facility, EPA Identification Number CAD 030 584 502 (Facility). GE LASC has operated the service center at the present location since 1968. The Facility contains a hazardous waste storage building which is approx. 120 sq. ft. of floor space capable of storing up to twenty six 55-gallon drums of liquid or solid wastes. Wastes generated from on-site service shop include solvents, naphtha, paints, varnishes, thinners, glass beads, petroleum derivatives, solder flux and contaminated rags from service equipment sent from customers. DTSC prepared an Environmental Document Analysis (EDA) document in 2016 which compared current project activities to those previously analyzed in 1993, compared conditions at the site and in the surrounding area, and ensured that the proposed project meets current regulatory standards. Based on the information as provided in 2016 EDA, DTSC finds that not additional documentation is required to be prepared for the proposed project pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15162(b). The Permit would be in effect for 10 years and would subject the Facility to the terms and conditions set forth in the Permit and the Part "B" Application (Operation Plan) dated June 30, 2014 and subsequent revision dated March 17, 2016. The Part B Application/Operation Plan would be incorporated by reference into the Permit.
