- UPI proposes to modify the project, which was approved by the district in 1992, in the lowing manner: 1) increase steel throughout from 1.4 to 2.2 million tons/year; and 2) allow the use of non-slective catalytic reduction (SCR) equipped ships to deliver semi-finished steel coils to UPI. The district has reviewed this proposal in permit application number 00032.
