Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-MEN-57721-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Erik Wahl, representing the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. The Project is limited to two encroachments. One encroachment is to upgrade an existing undersized culvert with an appropriately sized culvert. Work for this encroachment will include excavation, removal of the existing culvert, replacement with new properly sized culvert, backfilling and compaction of fill, and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion. The second encroachment is to replace an undersized culvert with a rocked ford. Work for these encroachments will include excavation, removal of the existing culvert and fill, construction of the rocked ford, and armoring as necessary to minimize erosion.

Reasons for Exemption
The project replaces an existing culvert with an appropriately sized culvert and a rocked ford crossing that will be limited to use when surface water is not present. The crossings will be installed to current standards. There would be no significant adverse impact on endangered, rare or threatened species or their habitat pursuant to section 15065. The structures have the same use and capacity.
