Document Description
Sacramento County Department of Transportation (SacDOT) will place asphalt concrete speed tables, speed tables with pedestrian paths, speed tables with half pedestrian paths, speed bumps, speed bumps with pedestrian paths, speed bumps with half pedestrian paths at the locations identified above. All proposed improvements would be completed within the existing right of way, and there would be no changes to the traffic capacity or pavement striping.

Reasons for Exemption
Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project is located within existing County right of way along paved roadways, within residential neighborhoods in developed areas. Subsection (c) includes existing streets, sidewalks, gutters, and similar facilities (including road grading for the purpose of public safety) and other alterations such as the addition of pedestrian crossings, street trees, and other similar alterations that do not create automobile lanes. Implementation of the project would include the installation of speed tables and speed bumps to improve traffic management within neighborhoods and is therefore exempt from the provisions of CEQA.
