Project will provide a grant to Esselen Tribe of Monterey County to acquire 1,720± acres of land for the protection of oak woodland, vernal pools, riparian habitat that support threatened and endangered species, including South Central Coast steelhead, California red-legged frog, yellow-legged frog, and California tiger salamander. The property will also provide access to sacred cultural and archeological sites of the Esselen and provide future wildlife-oriented public use opportunities.
