Document Description
The purpose of the project is for the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB), on behalf of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), to grant a perpetual right-of-way and easement to the Department of Water Resources (DWR) over 14,100± acres of CDFW land located in Yolo County for the purposes of seasonal floodplain fisheries, rearing habitat, and fish passage. DWR will have the immediate right for flowage of 6,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) from November 1 to March 15 through the gates at Fremont Weir and have those flows pass over CDFW property. DWR has
the further right, contingent upon and subject to prior environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), to flow up to 12,000 cfs through the gates at Fremont Weir as more fully described in DWR's Notice of Exemption dated March 7, 2022 (SCH #2013032004). Project involves the transfer of an interest in land by a public agency for the purposes of restoring natural conditions including seasonal floodplain fisheries, rearing habitat, and fish passage.
