Document Description
The purpose of this project is replace old
interpretive panels and install new panels in seven (7) separate locations throughout Carnegie State Vehicular
Recreation Area to educate the public on the importance of staying on trails to protect vegetation and decrease erosion. Three (3) panels will be installed using the same post holes as previous panels and will not require new excavation. To install four (4) new panels, work will:
Use a gas-powered auger to excavate two (2), 8-inch diameter holes 6-inches below the frost line;
Pour concrete into holes, filling to no more than 3-inches below surface grade;
Insert one (1) post into each hole and backfill with excavated material; and
Attach one (1) interpretive sign to each post.
