Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. 1600-2017-0582-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the City of Concord Engineering Division.
The project is limited to the removal of accumulated sediment from two irrigation ponds to expose the original engineered pond floor contours. Approximately 10,000 cubic yards of sediment will be removed from the two ponds using suction dredge. Dredged sediment will be pumped into drying filter bags in upland areas adjacent to the ponds, and water will filter through the bags before returning to the ponds. Any cattails will be removed using equipment operated from the bank and will be disposed of offsite. Silt curtains will be installed during work to maintain water quality. Onsite restoration, including the planting of native riparian vegetation and channel-widening to increase emergent wetland vegetation, will be conducted in each irrigation pond in association with the project. No trees are planned for removal and all disturbed upland and bank areas will be seeded with native seed.
