Document Description
MNR Construction, Inc., on behalf of the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, proposes a spot repair of one (1) sewer section, replacing a total of six (6) linear feet of eight (8)-inch diameter vitrified clay pipe (VCP), remodeling the manhole base for the upstream manhole, and structurally lining the entire reach due to fractures. The work also includes traffic control activities along E 14th Street and within the Caltrans right-of-way along Interstate 10 (I-10) at Post Mile (PM) 17.21, in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County. The proposed work includes excavation of one (1) trench measuring six (6) linear feet, shoring, bypass pumping, removal and replacement of the sewer pipe section, backfilling, repaving the trench area to match existing conditions, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspection of the entire reach. The project also proposes lining the existing sewer reach and remodeling the upstream (U/S) maintenance hole channels. A cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner will be installed in the existing pipe. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 120 inches, a maximum width of 36 inches, and a total length of six (6) linear feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for this project.
