Document Description
The District proposes to construct two new two-story classroom buildings (Classroom Buildings E and F), two one-story classroom buildings (Classroom Buildings C and H), a new electrical and storage building (Building D5), a campus quad, a learning and garden, a lunch shade structure, paved walkways, and an 8-foot wall. The proposed project would expand Classroom Building G; and reconfigure and make internal updates to Classroom Buildings A, B, D1 through D4, and G. Additionally, the proposed project would include parking lot and circulation improvements at the southern parking lots. Ornamental landscaping and paved walking paths would be installed throughout the project site. The existing Classroom Buildings C and E, concrete walkways, and four basketball courts would be demolished. The proposed project would also require the removal of 10 portable classrooms, canopy structures, bicycle racks, gates, fencing, and accessory equipment/structures. Overall, the proposed project would benefit the Woodland Park Middle School students, staff, and the general community by providing enhanced educational facilities and improved circulation improvements.

Reasons for Exemption
The proposed project would include the modernization, expansion, removal, and construction of buildings; circulation improvements; and installation of fencing and gates, landscaping, hardscaping, and other infrastructure which would be exempt under Class 1, Existing Facilities (Section 15301 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project would demolish four basketball courts and reconstruct one court, and replace shade structures and accessory structures which would be exempt under Class 2, Replacement or Reconstruction (Section 15302 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project would construct new buildings, a campus quad, learning and pollinator garden, shade structures, and accessory structures which would be exempt under Class 3, New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures (Section 15303 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed circulation improvements and new landscaping would be exempt under Class 4, Minor Alterations to Land (Section 15304 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed accessory structures (lunch court shelter, a wall, basketball court, garden, concrete seatwalls, signage, fencing, etc.) would be exempt under Class 11, Accessory Structures (Section 15311 of the CEQA Guidelines). The proposed project would remove the existing portable classrooms, demolish two classroom buildings, and construct five new buildings (proposed Classroom Buildings E, F, C, and H, and Building D5) which would be exempt under Class 14, Minor Additions to Schools (Section 15314 of the CEQA Guidelines).
