Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division (SJFD) plans to replace the Las Perillas Pumping Plant (LPPP) ground water seepage pump discharge line. The existing line was damaged and will be abandoned in place. An above ground line was proposed and set to be constructed earlier this year, but the idea was later scrapped in favor of a buried line. The new line will be installed underneath the road leading to the LPPP sump.
SJFD staff will use a mini excavator or backhoe to create a 500-foot-long by 2-foot-deep by 1- to 2-foot-wide trench. A 4-inch dimeter HDPE pipe would be installed within the trench and connected to the ground water seepage pump. All equipment and materials will be staged behind the LPPP and located on asphalt. Spoil piles will be placed next to the trench and will be used to backfill the trench once the new pipe is installed.
Work is estimated to take 3-4 weeks to complete. All work will take place within the DWR right-of-way. This job is necessary to maintain the plant.
