Document Description
The County of Riverside Transportation Department proposes to resurface approximately 2.3 miles of existing asphalt concrete (AC) pavement on Oak Glen Road. Oak Glen Road is currently a two-lane rural residential facility with mountable AC dike through the entire project limits. The road travels in the North-South direction and has 13 foot wide vehicular lanes. The proposed project will include resurfacing the road, adjusting utility valves, adjusting utility manholes, reconstructing mountable AC dike, grading a dirt swale, striping of the roadway, and the salvage/removal and installation of new signs. The proposed project will also include: • Reconstruction of curb and gutter • Reconstruction of existing eroded earth slope • Construct drop inlets • Reconstruction of AC driveways • Reconstruction of existing mailboxes per USPS standards • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing • Reconstruct existing storm drainage outlet structures • Pavement markers and reflectors No additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements (TCE) will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will be within the existing footprint of the roadway and most of it will not raise the roadway profile.

The County of Riverside Transportation Department has found that the above-described project is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), based on the following: Section 15301 (c) – Existing Facilities – The project proposes to resurface approximately 12,185 feet (2.3 miles) of existing AC pavement on Oak Glen Road between Orchard Street and San Bernardino County Line to the north, in the Cherry Valley Community. The project in its entirety is consistent with Section 15301(c) because it does not create additional traffic lanes and involves no expansion of use of the existing roadway and associated facilities.
