Document Description
The work includes the removal and replacement of the existing filter clarifier system consisting of buoyant adsorptive media, as well as the replacement of the second-stage filter media composed of silica sand and anthracite coal. The project also includes the removal of existing pneumatic actuators and installation of new electrically operated actuators; replacement of existing surface wash nozzles; and installation of new instrumentation, including a filter liquid level transmitter, clarifier pressure transmitter, and filter pressure transmitter. The work further includes the replacement of air scour blowers; removal and replacement of process valves, including filter inlet, backwash, effluent, filter-to-waste, air scour, influent isolation, surface wash, and drain valves; replacement of existing sample pumps; and the complete replacement of the existing control panel with a new, fully integrated system. The work includes all associated demolition, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation tasks, as well as all appurtenant work necessary for the proper construction and commissioning of the contemplated improvements.
