Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to replace the existing electrical equipment at three (3) different locations along Interstate (I) 580 at Postmile (PM) R6.5 in Alameda County, I-5 at PM 6.52 in Merced County, and State Route (SR)132 at PM 20.1 in Stanislaus County. The scope of work includes replacing Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) components, replacing traffic loops and equipment, and replacing a Microwave Vehicle Detection System (MVDS) unit with a Wavetronix unit. All work will be done within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to ensure the Traffic Management Center has reliable real-time live video feed of roadway, traffic, and weather conditions within the project limits. The project is needed to improve mobility of the traveling public.
