Document Description
The Two-Way Radio System Life Cycle Replacement project proposes to replace IID’s existing radio system with a reliable, survivable, and scalable two-way radio system that provides voice communication between field personnel and operational centers. This project will ensure the new radio system is robust enough to support the voice communication needs of all IID field personnel while also implementing a more economical solution that will reduce the total cost of ownership. The new radio system will ensure operational resiliency by providing system redundancy in physically separate data centers. The work consists of replacing the equipment at the existing Pothole, Black Mountain, IID System Operations Center (SOC), Superstition, Cactus City and Indio Hill telecommunication sites; no new sites are considered for the project. The current radio system components to be replaced are: 1 P25 800Mhz two-way radio, 24 repeater units, 38 base stations, 493 mobile radio units, 274 hand held units, 9 desk sets, 13 dispatch consoles, 274 battery chargers, 20 multi-battery chargers and 5 tower-mounted antennas.
