Document Description
Caltrans proposes to repair the I-5 northbound 18th Street undercrossing (UC) bridge (BR 57-0252R) by removing the existing 1" asphalt concrete (AC) overlay that is failing and replacing it with 1" polyester concrete overlay. This work includes removal by grinding the existing surface treatment off, repairing cracks and damage to the bridge deck, repairing the approach and departure slabs, and replacing joint seals and placing new traffic striping. This work is needed to repair and protect the structural integrity of the 18th Street UC Bridge BR 57-0252R from additional damage and to ensure the safety of the traveling public along the I-5 Corridor connecting route between Mexico through downtown San Diego traveling north.
