Document Description
Four stream gauges will be installed at different locations. Each gage will consist of two poles, approximately 2 inches in diameter, which will be driven into the ground. These two poles will support the necessafy measuring equipment. Additionally, a small line will run to the boliom of the river in a trench to measure the water. Each gage installation is expected to be completed in a one-week period during dry river conditions. Dewatering would not be necessary, no in-waterwork would be conducted in the Tule River.

Reasons for Exemption
Involves the construction and location of a limited number of small structures. The project will involve minor trenching and backfilling, where the surface is restored. No in-water work would be necessary. Stream gages would be used to collect hydrologic data and monitor stream flows. Stream gages would not result in a serious or major disturbance to environmental resources. Therefore, the proposed project meets the requirements of CEQA guidelines 15303,1 5304, and 15306 and is catagorically exempt from the requirements of CEQA.
