Document Description
The Vista Irrigation District is conducting a planning study to determine potential locations for additional reservoir storage. Geotechnical data collection and research, including up to 15 borings, are necessary to quantify constructability risks and construction costs as part of potential reservoir locations within the property. This planning study and data gathering will support project design work after the planning study is completed. These data-gathering borings are the specific project that is the subject of this CEQA Categorical Exemption.

Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt from CEQA based on its conformity with Article 19, Class 6, Section 15306 of the CEQA Statute and Guidelines and because there is no reasonable possibility of a significant effect on the environment due to unusual circumstances, no significant cumulative impacts from projects of the same type and the project will not have impacts on a uniquely sensitive environment. This project consists of basic data collection and research for information gathering and is part of a study and design leading to a potential action, which the Vista Irrigation District has not yet approved, adopted, or funded. The project activities will not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource.
