Document Description
The Annual Pavement Maintenance at Various Locations Project FY 2024-2025 is part of the Annual Street Maintenance activities and is designed to prolong the pavement life of city streets. The work to be done in general consists of the rehabilitation of residential and arterial street surfacing, removal and replacement of concrete access ramps, sidewalks, curb and gutters, driveway aprons, cross gutters, and spandrels at various locations throughout the City of Orange. The project will provide and maintain infrastructure necessary to ensure the safety of the public.

The CEQA Guidelines, Section 15301 categorically exempts projects that involve the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing facilities within public right-of-way including “existing highway and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails, and similar facilities”. The project is exempt because it involves the maintenance of existing street improvements, does not trigger the exceptions to exemptions listed in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2, and does not expand the existing use.
