Document Description
This project is for the replacement and installation of culverts, reroute of Bobcat trail, recontouring and improving drainage for the pond, and raising the park road within Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area to prevent or reduce ponding and flooding of the park road. Work will use heavy equipment and hand tools to complete the following work: •Remove existing fencing between goose pond and the park road; •Replace existing culvert under park road with up to two (2), 2-foot wide by 40-foot long arch culverts; •Grade the area between the culvert and goose pond with an up to 3-foot swale with a 7-foot wide bottom, with gradually sloped sides up to 20-foot wide at surface grade; •Add 10 linear feet of riprap in the swale; •Install one (1) new 2-foot wide by 30-foot long culverts; •Add up to 180 linear feet of riprap upstream from the swale; •Install up to six (6) metal aprons at the inlets and outlets of each culvert; •Add riprap to armor the base of the culverts; •Reroute a portion of bobcat trail; •Outslope or crown modified routes to shed water ; •Use native material from onsite to raise a portion of the park road by 4-inches; •Install post and wire fencing around goose pond; and •Install new peeler core fencing around the culvert inlets and outlets, excavating a one (1) foot wide by three (3) foot deep hole for each peeler core post.
