CAL FIRE would provide funding to the Colfax Todds Valley Consolidated Tribe of the Colfax Rancheria and Koy’o Land Conservancy to implement tribal wildfire resilience treatment activities on up to 54 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land in Placer County. Treatments include manual fuel reduction, prescribed burning, including cultural, broadcast, and pile burning, and eco-cultural revitalization. These treatments aim to serve California Native American Tribes and advance wildfire resilience, forest health, and cultural use of fire.

CEQA does not apply to fuel reduction, reforestation, & habitat restoration projects undertaken, in whole or in part, on federal lands to reduce the risk of high severity wildfire that have been reviewed under the NEPA, if the primary role of a state or local agency is providing funding or staffing for those projects. The proposed project was reviewed in its entirety under the Todd Valley Community Protection Project NEPA Determination of NEPA Adequacy (DOI-BLM-CA-C080-2024-0003-DNA) and Decision Record, signed November 21, 2023.
