Document Description
The Board of Harbor Commissioners approved a Joint Revocable Permit with MCIMetro Access Transmission Services LLC (MCIMetro), to allow for the placement of an overhead fiber optic cable across the former Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) San Pedro Branch Right-of-Way and the ACTA Corridor Right-of-Way. The fiber optic cable will be placed on existing poles located outside of the Joint Port’s property. The agreement will be effective upon the last execution by the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the respective Harbor Departments of the cities and is revocable by either party upon 120 days’ notice to the other parties.

The Class 1 Categorical Exemption consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The project consists of the issuance of Joint Revocable Permit (JRP) to allow placement of an overhead fiber optic cable across the former UPRR San Pedro Branch Right-of-Way to existing poles located outside of the Joint Port’s property. The JRP also allows access across the Port’s land during the construction. The project involves negligible expansion of existing or former use.
