Document Description
The scope of work for this project calls for trenching a 4-foot deep area approximately 10' long x3 wide for the abandonment of a 6-inch asbestos cement water main. District crews will remove a tee pipe fitting and install an isolation valve. The trench will be in the District's easement where existing facilities are installed. Work is anticipated to start in April 2025 and be completed June 2025. A certified biologist will be preparing a nesting bird survey for some vegetation that is to be removed within the easement obstructing the existing District's facilities. All state and federal nesting bird regulations will be adhered to. The project will benefit customers in the immediate project area, as well as District customers in general, by helping the District maintain reliability of service and avoid future pipeline failures.
