Document Description
The Alameda County Public Works Agency is proposing sidewalk improvements on Second Street from 100 feet west of Sylvan Glen Court (Hayward City Limit) to Windfeldt Road in the unincorporated area of Hayward in Alameda County. The project involves constructing new pervious and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter, and curb ramps. Additional work includes: removing approximately seventeen (17) trees; planting trees; roadway resurfacing; repair or reconstruction of roadway pavement as needed; removal and replacement of speed bumps; signing and striping; reconstruction of landscape retaining walls; and utility relocations and adjustments. Traffic control measures are included. Also included will be temporary BMPs to protect the environment. The purpose of the project is to improve pedestrian access by providing a continuous ADA path of travel on both sides of Second Street.
