Document Description
UC Davis proposes a utility project to provide PG&E back up power for West Village in the event of a campus power outage. The project will bring redundancy to power feeds in West Village, automating the transfer of power to the alternate feed source in the event of a disruption. The project will be delivered by PG&E. Work will occur in three locations in West Village, as shown in Exhibit A. At location 1, PG&E will replace an existing subsurface switch with new subsurface scada switch , re-using the existing number 7 box in the field; a new scada pedestal (and small concrete pad) will be installed a few feet away from the existing box. At location 2 and 3, PG&E will replace existing PMI-9 with new PMI-9R Scada switches, reusing the existing concrete pads. The project may need to shut off power for up to 12 hours to West Village; therefore timing of the work will occur in consultation with University housing to ensure the lowest amount of disruption to the residences in West Village.
