Document Description
Notice of exemption for Coastal Conservancy approval of grant funding to the City of San Luis Obispo. The project consists of preparing a vegetation management plan focused on reducing fire fuels and the threat of wildfire on open space and creek properties owned by the city and to develop a related website. The City of San Luis Obispo owns over 4,000 acres of open space mostly located in the greenbelt around the city limits. This greenbelt abuts the urban environment creating the wildland urban interface. Managing vegetation in the city-owned WUI parcels in the greenbelt and throughout the riparian zones interwoven throughout the city achieves multiple benefits including fire risk reduction, increasing open space vegetation resilience, and enhancing habitats.
