Document Description
San Joaquin Field Division plans to install an above ground steel conduit raceway from the LPPP discharge line blockhouse to the underground conduit line downhill near LPPP. The new 170-foot above ground raceway would replace the existing underground raceway, which would be abandoned in place. To do this work, 2-feet deep 8-inch diameter post holes will be excavated by hand every 10 to 20 feet. Once post holes are dug, prefabricated conduit racks will be installed. After the racks are installed, 2 2-inch diameter galvanized steel conduit lines will be attached to the racks. The new conduit lines will be around 1 foot off the ground. After the raceway is installed, tie end points will be excavated using a water vacuum truck. New wires will be pulled through the new conduit lines and connected to existing underground wires. After the wires have been tested, both tie in points will be buried. Work is expected to take 30 days to complete. All work will be completed within the DWR right of way. This work is necessary to replace the existing underground raceway which is deteriorating due to age.
