Routine maintenance for the Major & Secondary Arterial Roadway involves the design and construction of infrastructure improvement such as sidewalks, curb, curb & gutters, driveways, alley entrances and bus pads and roadway resurfacing. The work generally includes constructing Portland cement concrete pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, asphalt concrete pavement, crushed miscellaneous base, grading, concrete and bituminous surface removal. The work will also include adjusting or reconstructing manhole frames, reconstructing curb drains, reconstructing storm drain connector pipes, and the restoration of traffic striping and markings.

Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of the maintenance repair, restoration, or replacement of existing infrastructure such as sidewalks, curbs, curb & gutters, driveways, alley entrances, curb ramps, bus pads and roadway. There will no expansion of use or capacity for these facilities and all improvements would bring existing facilities to latest code requirements. The improvements are to be performed entirely within the public right-of-way.
