Document Description
This project proposes to rehabilitate/repair the road surface condition of County Roads identified above. The existing road condition of these roads have deteriorated requiring repairs to the road base and surface. The project will improve the pavement condition and lifespan of these roads.
Project roads will be rehabilitated with full depth reclamation at multiple sections along the length of the road. The road will be resurfaced with a double chip seal. The project will take place within the existing road Right-of-Way. The newly resurfaced road will receive new traffic striping and pavement markings. Rehabilitation of the road surface will enhance the safety of the traveling public. No trees will be removed and disturbance to vegetation will be minimal. Project roads will remain open with traffic control at each work location during construction. The project will not impact sensitive cultural or biological resources. The work is anticipated to begin and be completed during summer 2025.
Beneficiaries of the project are the traveling public.

Reasons for Exemption
All project roads are existing public roadways. The proposed project will make needed repairs to existing roads which will not involve expansion of existing routes. The California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Article 19, Section 15301(c), provides a categorical exemption for the operation, repair, and/or maintenance of existing highways and streets involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use.
