The purpose of this project is to excavate a trench for an additional utility line in a previously disturbed alignment in the Live Oak Campground at Mount Diablo State Park to correct the current non-compliant power system for the resident. Work will be completed by State Parks staff during dry conditions. Work will:
Use heavy equipment to excavate an approximately 70-foot long x 24-inch wide x 30-inch deep trench;
Place a 1.5-inch PVC electrical conduit in the trench alongside the existing conduit and backfill with excavated materials;
Disconnect the old conduit, remove the existing hazardously spliced line, and pull new wire through the existing and newly placed conduit;
Separate conductors into appropriately rated arc/ground fault pairs;
Use a screw/washer assembly to install new a subpanel below the existing meter on wooden support post; and
Use liquid tight flexible metallic conduit to connect both the new and existing conduits to the new subpanel.
