Document Description
The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (District) is proposing to install a bench at the base of the Seven Springs Loop Trail in Fremont Older Open Space Preserve to honor constituents Strether and Tomasina (Tommi) Smith. Installation of the constituent bench is consistent with the District’s Board Policy 5.01 Site Naming, Gift and Special Recognition. The bench would be designed with standard recycled composite plastic/wood lumber that is long-lasting, durable, environmentally friendly and low maintenance. Bronze plaques 2 x 6 inches in size would also be installed on the bench. Support posts will be embedded in concrete to stabilize the bench. Minor vegetation removal and grading would be required to clear and level the area where the bench would be located.
