Document Description
The purpose of this project is to rebuild historical track alignments within Railtown 1897 State Historic Park to accommodate the park's rolling stock collection, provide improved interpretative opportunities for the collection and reduce interference with existing freight operations through the park. The proposed rail alignments are as follows: Maintenance of Way Spur (MOW Spur), Oil Spur, Lakeside 2 and the Ramp track, from which three (3) additional alignments will branch off. In total, railroad trackage will increase by up to 1,000 linear feet. For the proposed alignments, work will widen proposed alignments and remove vegetation, including up to eleven (11) mature trees, as needed and install sub-ballast, ballast, railroad ties, and rails, along with all necessary fasteners.
