Reasons for Exemption
The Whitewater River Channel serves as a flood control channel that traverses Indian Wells. An important maintenance feature of the channel is the concrete “low flow” channel. The low flow channel was damaged in the Feb. 2019 rain event and subsequently in the Tropical Storm Hilary in Aug. 2023 and the City has applied for grant monies to reconstruct and upgrade the storm water management system.
