The project qualifies as Class 1, 3, and 14 exemptions under State CEQA Guidelines
Section 15301 - Existing Facilities, which covers the operation, permitting, leasing, or minor alteration of existing structures; Section 15303 - New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures, which covers up to four commercial buildings not exceeding 10,000 square feet in floor area on sites zones for such use if not involving the use of significant amounts of hazardous substances where all necessary public services and facilities are available and the surrounding area is not environmentally sensitive; and Section 15314 - Minor Additions to Schools, which covers minor additions to existing schools within existing school grounds where the addition does not increase original student capacity by more than 25 percent or 10 classrooms, whichever is less. The project scope involves the construction of a one-story, 5,985-square-foot educational building and interior remodel of the existing buildings. The proposed changes would occur within the boundary of the existing campus, and the student occupancy and number of classrooms are to remain the same.
