Document Description
CAL FIRE plans to relocate the existing Hollister Air Attack Base (Hollister AAB) facilities to a 16.23-acre area within the Hollister Municipal Airport (CVH). The current air attack base facilities are located on the southeast end of CVH. With the Proposed Project, CAL FIRE proposes to relocate operations to about 550 feet west of the existing Hollister AAB.
The Proposed Project is necessary due to numerous facility inadequacies and because the existing facility no longer meets safety and operational needs (see more information in Section 2.2). CAL FIRE seeks to improve the Hollister AAB’s core capabilities of emergency response, natural resources protection, and fire prevention and regulatory oversight.
