Document Description
This project was selected as a project site because of the potential to restore oak woodland and meadows for wildlife access. The current site conditions on the east side of the project area are overstocked with Douglas-fir on oak woodlands. The working ranch on the western grassland is used for sheep, poultry and pig production. The project will remove encroaching small DBH Douglas-fir trees (8" DBH or less) and plant native madrone and oak species to enhance oak woodland, fence off and plant willows in a riparian zone, and establish native hedgerows for wildlife species and diversity. (WCB Project Tracker ID: 2022065).
