To replace approximately 120 wooden food lockers with metal, "predator proof" food lockers, designed to meet ADA compliance requirements, one of two installation methods (to be determined on-site) will be used. Work will: • Use hand tools and/or mechanical gas-powered auger or backhoe-mounted auger to dig an approx. 12-inch-wide by 2-feet-deep hole; • Use U-bolts to attach a 3.5-inch diameter pole to a locker, and place the post into the hole; • Backfill around the post with concrete to secure; and • covered with native soils (excavation spoils) and/or surrounding duff. Or • Hand excavate up to 2-inches to level the surface, or bring in fill to create a level the surface; • Pour a 4-foot by 5-foot by 6-inch-deep slab of concrete; and • Use four (4) bolts to secure the food locker to the concrete slab.
